TECHNOLOGY

Much of the technology used at the BJG is developed in-house and combines the latest in construction techniques with ideas from our community members’ support. Many of the challenges associated with creating a garden like this in Boulder stem from it’s unique placement and our ever-changing climate. We appreciate input from people just like you to help reduce waste, increase efficiency, or otherwise create an amazing experience for our shared garden.

YOGA

Before the garden opens to the public, members of our yoga group are welcome to find balance in peace with a vista overlooking our city below. Join others like you in a yoga session experience that is second to none.

Each week, we host different classes in our education center to demonstrate the rich tapestry and culture of Japan and the growth of the Japanese garden as a place of balance. You can learn about the history of the tea house’s development into kabuki theatre, Japanese construction practices, art, history, and much more! Come join us for a dive in the history of Japanese Gardens.

TEA HOUSE/KABUKI THEATRE

Enjoy a cup of green tea or a bite to eat at our tea house during the day. All vegetables are grown organic and fresh in our intellicrop containers year round. At night the tea house turns into a kabuki theater. Watch traditional theater shows from a time long since past that can still capture the imagination and the heart.

AQUARIUM

As a part of the expansion coming next year, our community will be able to enjoy the coy pond from above and below. The underground aquarium will allow our members to appreciate the sea-life from a new perspective. The BJG will be the only Japanese garden in the world with an under water feature.
